Downtown Christmas Parade

Well the weather sort of cooperated for this years Christmas parade. It was a little bit colder than we would have liked, but the sun was shining and the wind wasn't strong which makes a big difference when the air temperature is around 40 degrees. We got downtown early enough to get a great parking spot and do some shopping before settling into the back of Grandpa's truck. Bob's sister and her husband came to visit from Minnesota. Gene and Alvina are delightful people and it was so fun to talk with them!

The kids were lined up in the back of Grandpa's truck in their little folding chairs bundled in fleece blankets snacking on pumpkin bread. Sam stood up every time they announced a new entry in the parade ... he just couldn't wait for it to drive by, he had to stand up to see every second of the show.

Alex was content to be bundled under my coat for only a portion of the festivities. Halfway through the parade he insisted on having his head poke out of my coat (I had him strapped to me with the sling under my coat in an effort to keep him warm enough) so he could watch was was going on.

The parade was excellent. We got to see many of our old favorites and a few new ones. Many of the Missouri teams, wagons, buggies and sleds weren't able to make it because of the weather, which was sad, but it was still an fun parade.
