A Birthday Wish

While brushing my teeth Rebecca came in and said:

R: Mom, you wanna know what I want for my birthday?
M: What?
R: Vines in my room.
M: Vines?
R: That I can swing on in my room, up to my bed, out my window.
M: Wow honey, we'll have to think about how we can do that.
M: Maybe we can paint your room.
R: Pink!? with stripes?
M: Yep pink.

GR got a new cell phone at work, it's a joke of a phone. Cerner had tons of potential in the kind of phone they could have purchased, instead, they went with something "close, but not close enough."

Sam loves cell phones. Specifically my cell phone. He will dig through my purse looking for it and then carry it around with him. Since Nextel has a key lock option on their phones, I don't think twice about letting Sam hold my phone while in the car or in a shopping cart. So in our house, a key lock option is an essential feature of a cell phone.

When GR went looking through the "A Guide to Activating and Using Your Phone" that came with his phone to find out how to lock the phones key pad, he found the following statement:

Restricting Children's Access to Your Phone
Your phone is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with it as they could hurt themselves and others, damage the phone or make calls that increase your Sprint PCS Invoice.

This is just wrong in so many ways.


By the way:
The phone seems to have taken care of the "key lock" issue on it's own. It currently locks up when ever GR's turns it on, to unlock it he has to take the battery pack out repeatedly until it decides to allow him access.
