Water, water, water

My mother believes that all you need to make a vacation successful in the summer is sand and water. And each summer I understand more and more the wisdom of this belief. Granted there are plenty of fun vacations that don't involve either element, but the ones my children seem to remember the most, do.

Although, Kansas does have beaches, we haven't found any close that are quite like the beaches we have grown to love, and consequently each summer we spend more of our free "non-vacation" time in the water.

All of the kids have become little fish this summer - but that is for another post - this post is about one of our favorite non-swimming spots - the public wading pool. Grandma rented it for an hour this morning for all the grandchildren to enjoy and the children had such a good time splashing, filling, dumping, spraying, and simply playing in the water with each other.
