The Experiment
At the beginning of the month Sam got to bring home the Adventure Bag from Preschool. Inside was a fun book, a little friend to go everywhere Sam went, AND a small cube of Ivory soap. The soap came with instructions to place it on a paper plate and microwave it for 1 minute on high and see what happens. Any guesses before I post the results?

never done this before but my guess is that there were lots of bubbles.
I'm voting that it melted.
i was curious about this, so i googled it, and found an unnecessary amount of youtube videos showing what happens. these people must be high or something... most people used a whole bar of ivory soap.
Strangely, one of the adoptive families I've been working with gave instructions on their blog site on how to do this.
Did people just recently learn of the Ivory bar's expansive powers?

Now you know why it's one of the few soaps that floats in the bathtub. If only it would CLEAN the microwave while it was in there!
Another odd fact about ivory soap--you can make laundry detergent with it. All you need is some hot water, washing soda & borax.
What did Sam think of it?
